Testing out a group image post this time to upload a few shots from the lions mane shoot. I am half thinking about integrating a proper gallery into the site to allow people to decide what photos they like from a full set, opposed to only showing my personal fav’s. Any suggestions, please let me know!

The black sheet and “back in 24 hours” sign has finally being lifted and put back in its linen closet. Between moving back to Kilkenny and losing my camera charger its being a very quite few weeks… ok, 3 months, but were finally back in business.

Last Friday was the first live gig of the season and it saw a double helping of good old fashioned kilkenny grunge provided by the legendary Tame and kilkenny’s newest collection of crowd pulling grunge pro’s The Lions Mane.

The night was certainly a chance to dust of the camera, literally! Picked up a lens cleaning kit the other day down in mobile connections. Nifty little thing. Came with a dust blower, brush, cloth, cleaning fluid, everything! Even cotton buds! Unfortunately there was nothing to dust off the cobwebs in my head. It took a little while to get back into the swing of things. Remembering certain angles that work well, changing colours and settings on the camera, i completely lost the flow of things.

I think by the end of the gig i was almost back on track. Its certainly stimulating to shoot new subjects while listening to new music. Its the second time i’ve seen The Lions Mane and i must admit, they’re fucking awesome! Raw, heavy, funky and especially entertaining. Shown bellow is a blurred shot of Alan Dawson (front man) reaching out into the crowd. To be honest, im a little disappointed with this shot because of it is out of focus in the wrong way (dont ask me whats the right way!). However, im putting it up anyway, because there i really like the idea that was behind it. The framing is spot on, its a little over saturated which im putting down to rusty eyes. So yeah, let me know what you think.
